If you are an athlete in Houston, you know the "off-season" is a myth.
Between 7-on-7 tournaments in the sweltering heat, the relentless grind of AAU basketball circuits, and the intense pressure of Texas high school varsity sports, the demands on your body are higher here than almost anywhere else in the country.
We breed elite talent in the Greater Houston area. But we also see elite talent burn out or suffer non-contact injuries before they ever sign their second contract or make it to the collegiate level.
Why? Because everyone is obsessed with building the engine, but nobody is taking care of the chassis.
The Engine vs. The Chassis
Walk into almost any weight room in Houston, and you’ll see athletes pushing sleds, maxing out squats, and working on their vertical. This is Engine Building. It’s necessary. It gives you the horsepower to explode off the line or jump out of the gym.
But what happens when you put a Ferrari engine inside a Honda Civic frame?
Coach Ryan doesn't just add more horsepower, he's a Restorative Health Specialist who builds a bulletproof chassis capable of handling that power.
Eventually, the frame cracks. The suspension gives out. The tires blow.
In the human body, this looks like:
I don't just add more horsepower. I am a Restorative Health Specialist who builds a bulletproof chassis capable of handling that power.
The Missing Link: Durability is a Skill
Most athletes think injuries are just "bad luck." They aren't. They are usually the result of structural inefficiencies and a nervous system that is stuck in overdrive.
Here is how my approach is different from the standard sports performance training you’ll find elsewhere in Houston:
1. I Train the Fascia, Not Just the Muscle
Muscles don't work in isolation; they work in chains connected by fascia (connective tissue). If your fascia is dehydrated or "glued down" from repetitive motion, you lose elasticity. This makes you slower and more prone to injury. My protocols rehydrate and realign these fascial lines, unlocking "free" energy and explosive power.
2. I Regulate the Nervous System
Living in a massive city like Houston adds stress traffic on I-10, school pressure, and competitive anxiety all keep your body in "Fight or Flight" mode. You cannot recover in this state. I teach athletes the specific skill of down-regulation. We train your body to switch into deep recovery mode immediately after training or games, so you wake up fresh, not foggy.
3. I Fix "Energy Leaks"
If your hips are tight, your lower back has to compensate. That is an energy leak. It robs you of power on the field and causes pain later. We use causal analysis to find these leaks and seal them, making you a more efficient, dangerous athlete.
Whether you are a youth athlete trying to make the varsity squad, a collegiate player preparing for the draft, or a pro veteran looking to extend your career, the goal remains the same: Availability is your best ability.
Don't wait until you are sidelined to start thinking about durability.
If you are tired of playing through pain or want to gain a competitive edge that standard weight training can't provide, let’s talk.
